GI Outsourcing – A look back at a successful year

The last year has seen GI Outsourcing take a considerable leap in growth as it broadens its market and further develops its offering to the audit and accounting profession.

2023 has been full of highlights, but to give you a flavour of what our team and the broader organisation have been getting up to, here is our retrospective look at the last 12 months.

Incredible client feedback

The biggest qualifier of the success of our service is what our clients have to say about us and this year we have received some incredible feedback from the users of our services.

Here is what they had to say….

“The employees at GI follow a process and are reliable. They are professional and they lend themselves to hard work.

“It’s nice to know that amongst all that professionalism and willingness to work, there is also a human element to outsourcing. It is great that the team over there gets to integrate into the team here too!

“I think the comfort I take from GI comes from the fact that they are taking the lion’s share of the work, which has given us more clarity and head space. GI has really taken on one of the most important layers of the work that we do here.”

Lauren Harvey, Managing Director of Full Stop

“Being able to add on resources when you need them is vital to being able to scale-up new services at pace.

“We have the peace of mind that if we acquire a new client for outsourced finance function work that demands 20 hours a week, we can very quickly get a DRM team member in place through GI Outsourcing.

“I know that if I send an email about an issue at 3pm, I’ll have had a reply by close of play the same day because the account management team are here in the UK.”

Nathan Keeley, Partner and Head of Cloud Accounting at Carpenter Box

“It was very quick that we accelerated up the use curve with GI Outsourcing. We very quickly went from trialling GI Outsourcing to pushing a couple of accounts and Corporation Tax pieces of work over.

“We were then at a level of trust where we could hire a full-time person through GI Outsourcing and use them as a dedicated person for our business.

“It was a natural extension, and it was always going to happen if the relationship worked. We had massive demand for it, and, at the same time, it is hard to recruit in the UK as quickly as we needed to. This is a testament to how the relationship works so well.”

Accountex and beyond

To raise awareness of all that GI Outsourcing has to offer, our team have been touring a number of the UK’s top accounting events – the pinnacle of which was Accountex in London.

One of the nation’s largest accounting conferences, it saw our brand rub shoulders with some of the giants in our industry and hold its own as we shared the benefits of our offshoring solutions with our biggest audience yet.

Our team was busy meeting new people, making new connections and acquiring new users of our services.

The Digital Accountancy Show was another highlight of our year, where our team got to learn more about the latest technology and exhibit the brand to an audience of some of the UK’s most innovative accountants.

We also attended this year’s Accounting Excellence awards – a highlight in the British accountancy calendar – as a sponsor of the Practice Leader of the Year category, which was won by Simon Cowie from Infinity Partnership.

Our very own CEO, Tariq Husain, took to the stage to present the award, while our team were wined and dined at this landmark gala event, at one point we had 5 winners with their awards at our table.  Great to be working with some exceptional people and firms across our industry.

Festivities and celebrations

GI Outsourcing is by no means a boring place to work, and we have helped to celebrate several important festivities.

We celebrated Holi in our Indian offices on 8th March 2023 and it was a blast. We had a great time throwing colours, sharing sweets, and dancing to some lively music.

Women’s Day was also celebrated with much pomp and gusto by the GI office. Events and guest talks were keenly curated on topics close to every woman’s health.

We also had the pleasure of hosting a rejuvenating and refreshing yoga session to commemorate International Yoga Day!

It was an incredible opportunity for our team to come together, relax, and focus on our well-being.

New starters

We have continued to add to our growing workforce in the last year, both in India and the UK.

Our ability to attract some of the best accounting experts is why so many of our clients continue to use our services and refer us to their peers.

Our Indian team is constantly growing, and we continue to invest in the development of each individual, so they are properly equipped to deal with all enquiries.

We were accredited as CIMA Training Partners this year alongside our ACCA Approved Employer Gold Status, which marks a significant achievement for our organisation and a testament to our dedication to providing high-quality training and development opportunities to our employees and clients.
